Three and a half - four thousand years ago a large settlement existed here, protected by a powerful wall. During the excavations, several building horizons were recorded, the buildings of the village were repeatedly renewed. Aland has a very thick cultural layer - a layer of soil saturated with the remnants of ancient life. This layer contains a huge number of ancient objects - most of all, of course, these are fragments of ceramic vessels, decorated with very interesting geometric ornaments, and bones of domestic animals - but there are also quite numerous tools made of stone and bone, individual objects made of bronze, etc. etc. The cultural layer of Aland has remarkably "preserved" in itself organic remains of more than three and a half thousand years ago. Remains of wooden structures were found here; burnt fascines made from tree branches; and even the ashes of some objects woven from herbs. In terms of saturation with cultural remains, Alandskoe surpasses the Arkaim settlement by at least an order of magnitude, in terms of the preservation of organic matter, it is several times higher, in brightness and significance of architectural remains, it also surpasses, on Arkaim there is nothing like the stone facing of the outer walls, which is fixed in Aland. There is no doubt that people lived here much longer than on Arkaim, and repeatedly resumed the village after fires and periods of desolation.
