These are the heap leach pads which were used to recover gold from the mines opening in 2006 thru to 2007. In 2007 mining was temporarily suspended when it was realized recovery could be improved from 40% using heap leach to 90% using conventional milling. A SAG and ball mill grinding circuit, carbon-in-pulp recovery tanks, and a tailings storage facility were constructed and mining continued using that recovery method.
