Notes: This pharmacy building served the African American community of Fairfield during the Jim Crow era of racial segregation. However, it served as far more than just a pharmacy. This site also included medical offices, a library, a post office, a restaurant, and a gas station, all providing services that were difficult for African Americans to access in the segregated American south.
