BK 11 is 90% owned by Firestone Diamonds and 10% by a local investor group. It commenced production in August 2010 but has been on care and maintenance since February 2012. The resource estimate for the 9.6 hectare kimberlite at surface BK 11 pipe was for a total Mineral Resource of over 29 million tonnes at a grade of 44 carats per hundred tonnes, containing circa 1.2 million carats. As of August 14-2014 Firestone officially appointed Questco Pty Limited (“Questco”) to manage the sale process of the mine.

  • This was show as Karowe mine which is actually to the SE. I verified this as BK11 and changed it.
  • Bk11 is now sold to Tango mining.
