This is the former location of the shaft of the Bateman Bay mine which is part of the Bateman Bay Project which is 00% owned by Chibougamau Independent Mines Inc. In 1936 Norlake Mining Corporation completed 3 drill holes and an electromagnetic survey of the property. In May 1995 Bateman Bay Mining Compnay was formed and hed the property until 1995. Durring 1955-56 64 drill holes and other geophysical surveys were completed, and during 1957 anothe 108 holes were completed. In 1960 a 160m shaft was sunk and three levels were developed where 33 underground holes were drilled. Globex eventually purchased the property and then transferred the property to Chibougamau Independent Mines Inc, effective December 29, 2012. There is also a tunnel connecting to the underground workings of the Jaculet Mine to the NE under the lake. Total ore extracted was 565,000T @ 2.09% Cu, 3.09g/t Au.
