house, anglicanism, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places
Historic glebe house dating to sometime between 1643 and 1745 (the date is unclear and there is some difficulty in determining what structures various historic documents refer to). A glebe was a district of land whose use was to support a parish of the Anglican Church of England. Glebes were abolished in Virginia around the turn of the 19th century. This particular glebe was originally a private home that came to be a glebe through the will of the final private owner. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
