Greek Orthodox Chapel The three Hierachs (Storrs, Connecticut)

USA / Connecticut / Storrs / Storrs, Connecticut
chapel, orthodox christianity, Greek Orthodox Church

The three Hierachs Greek Orthodox Chapel was build by the Hellenic Society Paidia and
is under the spiritual juristiction of the Grek Orthodox Archiodese of America
and the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constadinople.
The chapel is unique for it is the first and only Greek Orthodox Chapel inside an American State University. It opened in 1995 and has since become a place of worship for students, faculty and the staff of the University of Connecticut as the families residing in the surrounding area. Built in the authentic Bysantine order with its interior done by icongraphers and mosaic artists from Greece, the chapel has become a jewel on campus.
Along with the Macedonia Educational Building and the classical Greek Theater under Construction, it is part of the Center for Hellenic Studies "Paidia" at the campus of the University of Connecticut.
