This is the old existing flooded open pit and is the source of water for the mine site. All of the water required at the Lapa Mine is sourced from the Heva river located 3.5 kilometres to the south of the mine. The water is pumped into an existing open pit nearby the property that has been allowed to flood and from which the mine is supplied.
