Armenian Cemetery of Gandzak (Ganja)

Azerbaijan / Gence / Ganja
 cemetery, destroyed

The Armenian Cemetery of Gandzak city (now Genje), with thousands of burials dating back from the period between the Late Middle Ages and 1988, was abandoned after the Armenian massacres in Kirovabad ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirovabad_pogrom ) at 1988, then gradually destroyed "to provide space" for some construction activities that immediately followed its annihilation. This is evident from the Google Earth photos published on 17 January 2012 and 20 December 2015. Judging from satellite imagery, most of the cemetery's site was turned into a garbage dump, rest of it remained, but no shadows from gravestones are now available (means they were annihilated too).
