Conundrum Pass at an elevation of 13,080 feet connects the upper headwaters of Conundrum Creek in Conundrum Basin to Upper East Maroon Creek drainage. Along with Copper Pass and East Maroon Pass (11,800), Conundrum Pass is one of three exits from the Upper East Maroon Creek Drainage into the adjacent upper level basins of the Elk Range. East Maroon Pass provides an excellent route to nearby Copper Lake and Copper Creek drainage, including Queen Basin, while Copper Pass in conjunction with Triangle and Coffeepot Passes provides an alternative route to Copper Basin, as well as routes to Conundrum Basin or to nearby Twin Lakes and Teocali Peak in the adjacent West Brush Creek drainage. Triangle Pass (13,057 feet), fitting to its name is the final connector of the triangular ridge, connecting Copper Basin directly to Conundrum Basin.
