The church is located in Colombara, part of the municipality of Apecchio (PU).
Built in the Byzantine era, San Lorenzo is the oldest part of Colombara. At first it was a castle built as an outpost for the defense of the valley. The first memory of the church has nell'Elencus Ecclesiarum 1299; In 1570-1585 he was again floored, then removed the bell tower built at its top, open the door in the middle of the main wall and erect the baptismal font. In 1781 it was destroyed by the earthquake, and was later repaired along with the rectory, the bell tower and cemetery and a sacristy was built before non-existent.
