Spices Development Project sponsored by Govt, of India under NHM presently operating its central activities on breeding, maintenance of germplasms and propagation of black pepper, breeding of sweet pepper and orchids are being carried out in this field. There are five green houses and 60 beds for propagation. Besides these, activities of maintaining betel vine germplasm is also here under AICNIP on Betelvine. Field is under control of Director of Research, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (www.bckv.edu.in)
