ruins, Roman Empire, viaduct (bridge construction style)
Ancient "Pira Bafit" bridge over river Tigris, built by the Romans and renovated by Seldshukes and Arabs in 12./13th century; only one arche is still intact with nice decorations from islamic artist showing the zodiac. Though very remote it is worth a trip, also because of the landscape. You may need the permit of local authorities as it is close to the border to Turkey and Iraq.
