The Stadspolder is a polder and former 'waterschap' (water board) in the municipality Oldambt in the east part of the province of Groningen. The polder, which was created in 1740, is situated north of Drieborg and is surrounded by the Stadspolderdijk (dycke) in the north and east (aside the Westerwoldse Aa), the Middendijk in the south and the Veugeldijk in the west.
The watermill of the polder cleared the water through the Stadspolderzijl, an opening to the Westerwoldse Aa and was in the northeastern part of the polder, about 1 km south of Nieuwe Statenzijl. The polder nowadays is under the responsibility of the water board of Hunze en Aa's. The Stadspolder is one of the Dollard polders. Its soil consists of seaclay, and is very suitable for agriculture.
Since 1874, north of the Stadspolder is the 2nd department of the Reiderwolderpolder. Like the Stadspolder, it was private property of the city of Groningen. The name of the Stadspolder is directly related to the city of Groningen, commonly and locally known as 'Stad'.
