The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) was established under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in 1998. Located in a traditional Windtower house in the heart of Al Fahidi Historic District of Bur Dubai the centre offers a range of activities through its award winning programmes “Open Doors. Open Minds.”. The SMCCU strives to demystify and raise awareness of the Emirati culture, customs and religion of the UAE. With an overall objective to improve cross-cultural understanding and communication between Emiratis and guests across the UAE, we invite you to learn more about local culture in Dubai.
The Jumeirah Mosque Visit runs Saturday to Thursday at 10am, no reservations required.
Cultural Meals: Monday & Wednesday Cultural Breakfast at 10am; Sunday & Tuesday Cultural Lunch at 1pm; Cultural Dinner Tuesdays at 7pm, and Cultural Brunch Saturdays at 10:30am.
Heritage Tours are held Saturdays at 9am and every Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday at 10:30am. Walking Tours are held Sunday through Thursday at 9am.
Bespoke Cultural Awareness Programmes and private group bookings available.
