Built for service with the National Science Foundation through the University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, M/V Sikuliaq is a ice-capable oceanographic research vessel that was laid down at Marinette Marine in April 2011, launched in October of 2012 and is presently fitting out for service.
Slated to begin science operations in 2014, the Sikuliaq and will be homeported in Seward Alaska, at the UAF's Seward Marine Center.
