Los Flores de Los Andes is the operator. Found in the 19th century it was not actively mined until 1989. It is suitable for mining only four months out of the year by some 40 workers. The location is remote and about 3200 meter elevation very near the Crest of the Andes and the border with Argentina. Very large pieces were available at booths at the Davis Craft fair in Spring 2013.
