Padise Monastery is open to visitors after a thorough restoration! The monastery was built by the Cistercians in the 14th century. The monastery was built over a period of 200 years. After the recently completed thorough restoration, the monastery is open to visitors again.
Today, the only medieval interior features of the monastery that have remained intact are its 14th century church bell (the oldest in Estonia) which can be found in Harju-Risti church and the rare Calvary group from the same century which is on display at St. Nicholas’ church.
The church hall of the Padise Monastery is, thanks to good acoustics and a special aura, an appreciated concert venue.
National Register of Cultural Monuments.
