This is the shaft headgear and surface infrastructure for the Main and Ventilation shafts for the Ezulwini Gold Mine, which was formerly known as Cooke4, and before that Western Areas North Shaft. It was commissioned in 1961 and mined the Upper Elsburg Reefs and operates at depths around 1000m using a single shaft for access and hoisting, and a shaft for ventilation. The main shaft has a diameter of 8 m and a depth of 1519 m and the ventilation shaft, situation 40m to the NE, has a depth of 1102 m. Both shafts are in the same shaft pillar which has a elliptical shape approximately 480m on strike and 450m on dip. The stratum is east - west and the strata dips at an average inclination of 16 degrees to the south.
