The Ya Ming company was foundered by Ya Pu Er in 1923, changed the name to "Ya Ming" and registered the "Ya" brand in 1959. The whole manufacturing concern was moved to this site in 2002 where all types of lamps are produced.
Initially an incandescent lamp manufacturer, Ya Ming made its first fluorescent lamp on 1948, High Pressure Mercury lamp in 1963, High Pressure Sodium Lamp in 1975, fused silica arc tube Metal Halide lamp in 1990 and ceramic metal halide lamp in 2006.

Ya Ming operates joint ventures with both Philips of Eindhoven, Netherlands and Venture Lighting International of Solon, Ohio U.S.A. and lamps branded under these names as well as, "Ya-Ming", "Ya-Hong" and "Ya Pu" are made here.

Ya Ming looks forward to the future of solid state lighting and has relations with Cree, a leading solid state lamp (L.E.D.) manufacturer.
