Previously known as Crown Prince Palace of th Sultanate of Ngayogyakarta.
Built in 1865 by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono VI, Dalem Mangkubumen was built as the residence for Prince Adipati Anom. After the prince reign, this dalem was inhabited by his womb brother GPH Mangkubumi, so the dalem was more famous with the name Dalem Mangkubumen. After GPH Mangkubumi passed away, his brother GPH Buminoto replaced him in inhabiting Dalem Mangkubumen until 1928. This residence had also ever been used as interim residence by General Sudirman in Dutch Military Agression II.
Dalem Mangkubumen covered with the form of Joglo (pendapa) and limasan (main house/dalem).
From 1983 until now, Dalem Mangkubumen has been used as campus of Widya Mataram University and Mataram High School. University founded in Oct 7th 1982 by Sri Sultan HB IX and KGPA Mangkubumi ( now Sri Sultan HB X ). It has 5 faculties : Economic, Law, Social and Politic, Technology ( Dept.Architecture, Dept.Industry), and Food Technology.
