Sangaste railway station is located in Cirguliina, Valga County, and is named after the Sangaste Manor. Elron passenger trains running on the Tartu–Valga route stop at the station, and there is one full-fledged platform between the tracks. The railway station is located along the Tartu–Valga broad-gauge railway, which was completed in 1887. Sangaste station was opened in 1889. The station can also handle the loading and unloading of freight trains and has four pairs of tracks. At the time of its opening, the station was located on the lands of the Laatre Manor in Sangaste Parish. Until 2008, there was the Köngeku railway station in front of Sangaste, and the Raavice railway station behind it.
