restaurant, pub / public house
Cosy corner pub with attractive windows and panelling within. Licensed as the Two Blue Posts in 1728, the present pub was built in 1892 at a cost of £4,000. The blue posts were the boundary-markers of Soho Fields, the sixteenth century royal hunting grounds. Or alternatively, the name is thought to refer to the blue bollards that once marked the "taxi-ranks" of sedan chairs, one of which is illustrated on the pub sign.
