Moon Lake Park is owned and operated by Luzerne County and is the only facility of its type within the county. Park development was started in 1968 by the county with cost shared by the state and federal governments.
Land area includes 600 acres of fields and forest which surround a 48 acre lake.
Facilities include an administration building, 2 picnic areas, tennis courts, basketball court, softball field, nature education center, camping area with toilet-showers- laundry facilities, marina, swimming pool and bathhouse, concession stand and hiking trails. In addition there is a complete water and sewage system throughout the park.
