Murud is a town and a municipal council in Raigad district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Situated at a distance of 150 km from Mumbai, Murud is a tourist destination. The Palace of Nawab is located in Murud. The palace was built in 1885 for administration purposes. Murud is a Taluka place in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
The place is famous for its Phansad wild life sanctuary and the Fort of Janjira, situated around 5 kms south.
Also the Murud beach is one of the best in the region.
