Russia / Moskovskaja Oblast / Shcherbinka / Moscow
 memorial, park

Established in 1975, the park features 2 monuments:
(1) a memorial complex including two artillery guns (a Soviet anti-aircraft cannon and a germa PAK-75 anti-tank gun), a basrelief, and a memorial plate;
(2) a small memrial plate commemorating children victims of concentration camps.
An adorable patriotic place to take a walk with the children.
"In 1941 the second military school for pilots' primary training was given a land in the village of Kryukovo (now known as the Southern District of Moscow) with purpose to build a training airdrome. The whole construction included an airstrip for school airplanes O2 (U2), gasoline storage and a hangar. With the enemy approaching Moscow in October 1941 the air fighters regiment of Moscow Anti-Aircraft Defence were allocated here. During the days of severe battle for Moscow the crew consisting of commander Tikhomirov Yu.A., navigator Onchurov A.Ya., gunner-radioman Vorona P.A. heavily bombed a column of fascist tank forces. The crew later died in a plane crash while landing due to serious damage of the aircraft." www.Chertanovo.info.
Nowadays there is also a monument in honour of the heroes, located just on 1 km north from the park near building 10 corp.1 on Kirivogradskaya street.
