A major railway transportation node on the western end of Vilnius, a secondary station to Vaidotai yard. On the western end of the station there is a unique railway viaduct, where Paneriai-Vaidotai line crosses the Vilnius-Kaišiadorys line. Previously the station was connected to Vilnius by a railway tunnel, however, it after partial demolition during World War 2, it fell into disuse and the railway was built around the hill instead of through it.

Suburban services to Kaunas, Marcinkonys, Varėna, Trakai and Valčiūnai call at the station.
