Maria's column is one of the oldest among the Rhenish Marie columns . This monument was designed and completed in 1858 of sandstone by Vincenz Statz in the Gothic Revival style; today the column stays in the Gereonsdriesch, a small park in the district of Altstadt-Nord in close proximity to the east choir of the Romanesque church of St. Gereon.
