Kala Afghana, Tehsil Batala, District GurdasPur, India. The correct history is the same as appeared in its name. Seven Afghan brothers, who were my ancestors as well, laid the foundations of this village, long before the Indo-Pak division. That’s why this village is named as Kala Afghana. The most famous of those afghan brothers were Hayat Wardak and Rashid Wardak. Their roots were named as Hayatkhel and Rashidkhel. Other famous names among the people of those hayatkhels were Qadey (or Qadir) Khan, Shaadi Khan, Khan Muhammad Khan, Mehmood Khan, Muhammad Yaqub Khan (still alive) etc. At the time of partition the whole Gurdas Pur was becoming the part of Pakistan since the majority was Muslims incl. this village too. Also in the original partition map it was a part of Pakistan. But as the road to Kashmir crosses from here so the Jawaharlal Nehro captured it along-with occupied Kashmir. For this unjust captures they seek the help of English people and the Sikhs. The Sikhs later play the HOLY of blood with bare handed Muslims and killed all the Muslims left behind. Now how can they say that this is their Village? I wonder upon their lies.

Mr. Khan, During Partition innocent people lost their lives and property on both side of border. My ancestors left more than 200 acres of land in manpur village near lyalpur and escaped just with their lives. Can we claim back that land or homes? We are not upset on Pakistani people and try our best to keep that past behind us and lead a normal life. So should you.
