  • Dear Sirs May God bless you all who planned The location selection is a big question mark ? .....I might be wrong please correct me if I am wrong. 1/ Chittagong sea port is of 9 Meter draft ( Deepness ) which is called not a deep sea port. 2/ Now we are in a serious requirement of a Deep Sea port. On which we may desire to be of draft ( Deepness ) more than 9 meter. Is this assured ? 3/ The location PAIRA is on the mouth of Gonga at the 2nd biggest mouth of Gonga means at the mouth of river Tetulia??????????????? having high rate of siltation ( Polee mati bohon ) carrying scope. Which will always create blockage and will need to do the dredging at very high cost. Even for a ferry ghat we do not have money to maintain by dredging Need above to be justified, we might have other good places Now we have options A) Keep Paira as a port as decided already and approved In no way this can be ACCEPTED a deep sea port ... Let us use this as a normal port still useful ( Not deep) then B) Select another real high draft location ( Which we have ) for deep sea port Kindly think more before we do such big work in future May God bless you all Austin
  • THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENT. I LIKED IT. BUT CAN YOU REFFER SOME LOCATION WHICH IS OF ECONOMICALLY ADVANCED FOR PORT DEVELOPMENT FOR BANGLADESH.
  • According to the Shipping Minister draft of the channel is 21M. But the mouth is not that deep. A dredging contract has been signed with an European company and by dredging a 16M draft at the mouth will be maintained. This will turn into a deep sea port.
