A SHORT HISTORY OF GLOBESCO
In 1962, a little known company dreamed big. Foreseeing the economic boom, Globesco made use of the big opportunity to penetrate and supply the demands of a burgeoning paint market.
It began as a simple objective: To get a small percentage of the paint market dominated by foreign corporations. It aims to do so by upholding world-class service by providing quality products at reasonable cost to its customers.
The company’s start was marked by wholesale simplicity, purchasing paint by the drum and repackaging them for commercial use. Demand soon outstripped supply and Globesco soon found it more practical manufacture its own paint. Its brand Sphero, became a local hit among Filipinos, owing to its superb quality and competitive pricing.
Spurred by the success of Sphero, Globesco has taken the challenge of providing more, and has expanded to include more types of industrial paints.
Through the years, Globesco has remained strong and committed to its loyal customers throughout the country’s 7,100 islands. From its humble beginnings, the company has grown and now has its business complex that houses its own manufacturing plant and research and development center.
Globesco presently employs over 200 workers and has played a strong role in the resurrection of the country’s paint industry. The company remains one of the most enduring symbols of how a local brand can rise and be proudly proclaimed “Made in the Philippines.”
OUR AFFLIATES
Owing to the need to create a better supply chain for its increasing client base, Globesco gave birth to a number of support companies, all created in the desire to provide its customers with better products and superior customer service.
Globesco’s other paint products, including a wide range of automotive, architectural, industrial, and allied products are poised to enjoy market leadership in the next few years. All because one company dreamed big and acted on it.
-Koatlink, Inc.
Koatlink was established in 1989 to help fill the need for a resin manufacturer that supplies the superior paint products. Koatlink’s facility is located beside the Globesco manufacturing plant.
-Super Globe, Inc.
With the demand for Globesco’s superior paint products on record highs over the years, Globesco saw the necessity of creating Super Globe, Inc., which oversee the development and supply of raw materials and chemicals needed for the creation of Globesco paint products. In 1999, Super Globe has risen above its original intent and has made use of its extensive experience to create its own array of paint and paint support products. This includes Polituff polyester body fillers and Stripsol paint strippers. At present, Polituff and Stripsol rank as local leaders in their respective fields.
