The facade is one of the most significant works dell'romanico " Umbria " and is comparable with contemporary examples in Spoleto, such as the Cathedral and St. Peter.
The lower band dates back to the twelfth century , with three doors flanked by carved lions and griffins . The central portal has a particularly rich ornamentation , especially in multi- ring decorated with reliefs of vines , scrolls , allegorical figures and monstrous animals , the bezel is home to the Christ enthroned in a clypeus , between the sun , the moon, the Madonna nursing and San Rufino. The right portal has a bezel with two birds drinking from a source (symbol of Christian souls that drink to God's grace ) , while the left has two lions around a vase.
Above the portals runs a horizontal band with figures of animals and shelves with human heads and zoomorphic above it is a gallery from which protrude Four animals.
The central zone is occupied by three elaborate rosettes, around which there are shelves with some reliefs : around the central symbols of the Evangelists and down three Telamons . The area of the facade dates from the late thirteenth century and consists of a triangular gable crowning inside with a Gothic arch , which probably had to be inserted a painting or a mosaic. To the left of the façade stands the majestic Romanesque bell tower , dating largely to the building of Hugh , with the belfry decorated with double mullioned windows.
