church, chapel, 1989_construction
Non-denominational church at McMurdo Station. It was said to be the southernmost religious building in the world, but may have lost that distinction to an ice church at the Argentinian Belgrano II base.
The original Chapel of the Snows burned down in 1978. Services were held in a temporary structure until the dedication of the current chapel in 1989.
