Like many of its counterparts, the Grand Theater of Geneva is both a place and an institution. It is a majestic building located in the Place Neuve, opened in 1879, reopened in 1962 after a renovation made necessary by fire, it houses the largest platform in Switzerland. It gives performances of opera and dance, recitals, concerts, and occasionally plays.
