The Super Dual Auroral Radar Network (SuperDARN) is an international network of high-frequency radars for monitoring plasma dynamics in the ionosphere. The SuperDARN radar at Halley Research Station became operational in 1988 but has been dismantled and relocated at least once along with the station itself. As of May 2013, Google Maps (imagery date 12 Feb 2011) shows the radar in an apparently incomplete state, lacking an interferometer array (a shorter line of antennas parallel to the main array) and an equipment hut.
