Build in 1912 on behalf of the widow of contractor master builder Victor Merckx Verellen.
The house was designed by architect Jos Goeyvaerts. Like most houses from the beginning of the 20th century the property is eclectic in style, but still with pronounced Egyptian and Art Nouveau slant. The house reflects the Masonic philosophy of life of the client.
The house was recently completely restored.
In 2007 the property was protected as architectural heritage.
