The Seodaemun Prison History Hall Gwan Ryu Sun Underground Cell is an underground prison for use by female prisoners built in 1916. The underground cells were built to house, interrogate and torture the female inmates.
The cells are named for Gwan Ryu Sun, a great heroine of the independence movement who was harshly tortured to death.
