The site of Africa’s first mosque, named after Ethiopia King Ahmed Nejashi who welcomed Muslim refugees some 1,400 years ago. The mosque was rebuilt in 1956.
The site also hosts the tombs of the 15 companions of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who introduced Islam to Ethiopia.
