PIR anti-aircraft unit (Inm"m) is an elite special forces unit in the IDF , which specializes in using methods of flak (anti - aircraft) assault portable across enemy lines. It is the successor unit to the former Unit Egrophan (Unit 5107)

The unit main mission is diversion of enemy ground and air units by simulating long range AA missiles deployment on strategic locations along the Israeli borders and near vital installations within Israel. In peacetime the unit also train with the IAF by simulating enemy AA units.

The unit is located in two main bases – At this location which is the Israeli Defense Force AA School (BISNAM 883), and also at the Sirkin Air Force Base (AFB), central of Israel.

The unit combat deployment varies. During peacetime, the unit intimidate enemy aircrafts from flying near the Israeli borders by deploying on distinctive visible points. The unit will mainly deploy at the Egyptian border, but can deploy in other borders according to need.

During wartime the unit will deploy in high value locations in order to draw enemy units into AA ambushes. It will also make deterrence deployment in order to alert enemy forces from approaching the area and allow more free movement to the IDF ground forces.
