Nevado Huascarán is the highest peak in Peru. In progress, it is most likely the point farthest from the Earth's centre within the 2-metre (6 ft 7 in) measured error, if each mountain's reported height is correct. Reference, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extreme_points_of_Earth
It has two peaks, north and south, the north being slightly higher than the south. Views of Nevado Huascarán are fantastic from Yungay, which was destroyed in 1970 by a huge avalanche coming from Nevado Huascarán. There is a memorial there now and a large cemetry.
