'Cerriq-Gleision', 'Alexis Martin Residence'

Built in 1904, this chalet style house was architect Samuel Maclure's most celebrated Arts & Crafts residence.

Designed for barrister Alexis Martin, the house attained international acclaim when it was featured in the New York magazine, The Craftsman, in 1908. It was praised for combining the traditions of England with local materials. It was also featured in the Canadian Architect and Builder in 1907.

In 1956, it was divided into 4 suites; a fifth was added in 1982.
