  • 61st MP from '84-'86. I saw recent pictures from Site #5. The place looks pretty bad. Still, I miss that old Kaserne.
  • I was assigned to the 2nd Plt, 61st MP co from June 1981 to May 1985. 4 years of working at NATO Site 5 in the was enough for me. Cpt. Lampros was the Commander before I left there. I was a Sgt back then. I retired from the Army as a SFC with 27 years of service. Right now I live and work in Nidderau, Germany which is locate about approximately 11 miles North East of Fleigelhorst Kaserne which is where the good ol 61st was located (and NATO Site 5). It's amazing how much the world has changed since then. K.C. McGee USA SFC RET.
  • I was there same time as Sgt Mc Gee and Capt Lampros Spc4 Hagfors

  • Russell Wynn, Hey guys I was in the 61st MP Co in 81-82 and worked at NATO # 5. CPT Tate and 1SG Elsie was there when I arrived. A few names of people I remember, 1LT Lydon, SFC Glessman, SFC Phillips, SFC Davis, PFC Spoo, SPC Pena, SPC Arnette, SGT Perry, SPC Graham, SPC Williams, SPC Weston, SPC Geralds right off the top of my head. I really miss the 61st and the people in it. I never thought I would ever see NATO # 5 abandoned. I spent many days in those towers and running SAT and BAF's. Would love to get in touch with anyone from the 61st. So many stories to be told.
