The site Long Max is located approximately 3 kilometres north of the village center of Koekelare. The hamlet is called Leugenboom.
On the domain you'll find protected heritage.
The restored bakery stands by its white color in the eye. The bakehouse with its cross oven leaning against a barn and a stack area with a dry attic. There the fruit could be kept dry. Also, the animals in the stable at that time were able to take advantage of the heat of the oven. So it's good to understand that this exceptional building was protected.

Batterie Pommern was once the biggest gun battery during the first world war in 1917. It fired shells from ±800kg from Koekelare (Belgium) to Dunkirk (France) and Ypres (Belgium). (Dunkirk is about 45km away!)

Next the the remains of the artillery platform you can find the Lange Max Museum and also a monument.
