Originally the only pub in the hamlet relying on passing trade on the main road from Chippenham to Bristol but with the building of the M4 motorway this trade gradually disappeared, a well known pub in its time it has now been converted to handsome private home, only the pub sign hanging in a private garden is left as a reminder
