Model apartment house designed by architect Secundino Zuazo in 1935. The typology was that proposed for Zuazo and German city planner Hermann Jansen's competition winning 1929 plan for Madrid. Pablo Neruda lived in the Casa de las Flores during at least part of the Spanish Civil War, when the front lines of Franco's siege of Madrid nearly reached the building.
