Pronounced Maghazberd, a fortified citadel associated with the medieval Armenian capital of Ani to its north (although the ruined town south of the fortress is today also referred to by the name of Ani). The Turkish name for the nearby settlement to the northwest is Üçbölük, previously Mağazberd.
