The beach is named after the particular seabed where often after storms you can see the bottom with large benches basaltic same type of bedrock is found in the pond, Petrosu (from stone)
Beautiful stretch of beach nell'arenile of Orosei, behind the spectacular scenery of the pond Su Petrosu you cross over a wooden bridge of recent construction and brings both the beach and the road that runs along the pond and pine trees reaching up to the beach "Su Barone"
During the period of full bloom make a fine show if countless Pancratium maritimum, better known as sea lilies
Also nearby are picnic area that is an efficient bar and restaurant, a large car park and numerous services to the beach.
The shape is very special to get almost in front of the beach which is only visible after passing a sort of natural barrier, the wide beach is always clean with a short degrade towards the sea always clear and with mid-water depths are joy not only bathers but also of those who practice water sports.
Behind a thick pine forest and Mediterranean scrub consists of mastic and myrtle and with the inevitable reeds by the pond, safe place for permanent and migratory bird species: coots, flamingos and herons seen in large flocks.
In the pine forest is easy to meet with daytime hares, rabbits and foxes.
The beach is exposed to all winds except the south-west wind that comes along with lower intensity
In the stretch in front of the wooden bridge that determines access can still see a large concrete block on which until a few years ago there was a big iron winch used to bring in their boats of fishermen.
