6 mill t integrated steel plant located at Temirtau purchased by Mr.LN.Mittal during 1995-96.The plant also has 2 power plants of 420 MW and 120 MW with a total of about 30000 staff.The staff includes highly competant Russians and Kazaks. The initial Management team of senior Expatriate Indians recruited by Mr.Mittal numbering about 15 did the turn around from 1 Mill t to 3 mill t within 2 years and investments to the tune of US$ 400 mill was done for productivity improvement.The initial expatriates included Ms.Malay Mukherjee,Suresh mathur,YP Kumar,S Marar,R Asoka, RK Batta, Sinha,Choudhary,Vaidee,Alok jain,Jha,Balu.They are remembered even now by locals.
