historical layer / disappeared object, radio broadcasting tower
Radio transmission towers built by RKO General and used by the legendary 93KHJ (KHJ stood for Kindness, Happiness and Joy) radio station. KHJ first went on the air on April 13, 1922. The towers were eventually bought by CBS, who allowed leased access. The site generated between 50w and 115w output, depending on the time of day.
The historic towers were demolished on February 27, 2013 so the property could be turned into a housing development.
