These are the remnants of a railway bridge that used to exist here before 1945. It is understood that at the end of war, all rails and other usable material that had constituted the railway bridge were pillaged by the Soviet Army for their own use back in the USSR, a common occurrence with many railroad facilities in the Chinese northeast.

The original railway was a part of a commercial railway called "Hunchun Railway" which operated locally between several locations around Hunchun on the Chinese side and HoonYoong on the Korean side. The railway started operation on the Chinese side in 1935, and cross-border operation over this bridge was opened in 1936. Hunchun Railway was a narrow-tracked light-rail operation, but after the railway was taken over by a larger and newly established "East Manchurian Railway Company" in 1938, it was converted into a full-scale railway over the next few years. Apart from the anecdotal information regarding this bridge having been pillaged by the Soviet Army after Imperial Japan's defeat in the Second World War, very little is known about the final ending of this railway.
